Swallowtail Butterfly

I saw a card pretty much like this one - same technique and Designer Series Paper. Stamp the Swallowtail Butterfly  using VersaMark Pad. Apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat with Heat Gun. Using sponge daubers apply Basic Grey ink onto butterfly and around its edges.  I added pearls to the DSP.  Black Satin Ribbon is under the White organza ribbon .  Basic card is Whisper White layered onto Basic Black.  The DSP is layered onto Basic Grey cardstock.

Stamp - Swallowtail
Cardstock - Basic Grey, Basic Grey, Whisper White and Sycamore Street DSP (from Sale-a-Bration -  you could have gotten it for free!)
Ink - VersaMark and Basic Grey
Accessories - Pearls, Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Whisper White organza Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Heat Gun, Clear Embossing Powder.

Hint
When using clear embossing powder on DSP it is difficult to see if all areas have melted. Check and double check to ensure it is all done.

PS - There's a really wonderful lady at Heart to Heart International who loves butterflies.  This card is on her desk because she really deserves it.

Thinking of You Friend

Here's really nice card using the Just Thinking stamp from the Spring Catalog. This is a single stamp which is great. It embosses quite well and uses the Window Frames Collection of framelits. It is easy to cut out and use the same size framelit in a coordinating color to layer on top.

Note the pearls used to embellish.
Stamps - Just Thinking
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, First Edition DSP
Accessories - Basic Pearls, Embossing Buddy, Basic Black Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate

Saw this card on Pinterest and pretty much copied it exactly.  You can find it here under Ann Schach's CARD. Take a look at Ann's website as she is an amazing stamper.

Wedding Card

I've been working on wedding cards as we have someone at the office getting married in a month.  It's been fun finding great cards on Pinterest and trying to recreate them.  Here is one I thought was pretty nice.  The original creator used Vanilla Satin Ribbon instead of Black Satin Ribbon. And her card was a square design while this one is the normal dimensions. At least it looks wider than a normal style card.

  • Stamps - Fifth Avenue Floral, Ocassional Quotess

  • Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Basic Black
  • Ink - Basic Black
  • Accessories - Black Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Stammpin' Dimensionals.
The tricky part to this card is making the slits for the ribbon.  I'm not always straight with my cuts. Fortunately the row of pearls helps to cover small mistakes.  The black pearls in the upper right hand corner are done with a black sharpie over the white ones.              Jenna Barber made this and I totally cased it.  I think she did an amazing job and please visit her post on Jenna Barber on Splitcoaststampers.  She has all of her details listed.
